
SOUTHRIDGE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS HONORED WITH SCHOLARSHIPS
Chelsie Vukovich
Two Southridge High School students were recently awarded $1,000 scholarships by Beaverton Sunrise Rotary Club. Chelsie Vukovich and Jason Kniss were honored with the awards by a committee of Rotarians headed by Sam Scott, club member and retired Beaverton Schools administrator.
Vukovich is the daughter of David and DeeDee Etzel of Sherwood. She plans to attend Oregon State University to study Animal Science and pre-Veterinary Medicine. Vukovich was active at Southridge serving in various capacities including editor of the school yearbook and as an instructor of CPR and First Aid. She also worked as a lifeguard at a local swim center.

Kniss is the son of Gary and Judy Kniss of Beaverton. He also plans to attend Oregon State University where he will study Environmental Science with an eye toward eventually becoming a pharmacist. Kniss was active in his community at Southridge earning a “Best of

Fair” award twice in the Beaverton-Hillsboro Science Expo. He is an Eagle Scout who served as a camp commissioner at Camp Pioneer. He also participated in theater with a role in the Oregon State Thespian’s award winning production of “Lend Me a Tenor”.
Beaverton Sunrise Rotary Club was founded in 1983 and has donated college scholarships to Beaverton area youngsters for most of that time. .
